About This Opportunity

The National Science Olympiad (NSO) is an annual academic competition organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) for students in classes 1-12. It aims to assess and nurture their knowledge and skills in scientific reasoning and logical ability. The NSO curriculum is designed to provide a platform for young students to identify and develop their academic talents in science, preparing them for the competitive world from an early age.

Students from classes 1 to 12, enrolled in a school recognized by SOF, are eligible to participate. There are no minimum academic marks required for Level 1. For Level 2, only students from classes 3-12 are eligible, with selection based on performance in the Level 1 exam, including the top 5% class-wise, top 25 rank holders zone-wise, and class toppers from participating schools.

Participating in the NSO offers numerous benefits, including global recognition, scholarships, medals, and certificates. It helps students develop essential skills such as logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving, which are crucial for future academic and professional endeavors. The Olympiad also provides early exposure to competitive exams, building confidence for future challenges like engineering or medical entrance tests.

The NSO is conducted in two levels. Level 1 is an objective-type test held in participating schools during school hours. Level 2 consists of advanced questions from the current class syllabus, focusing on higher-order thinking skills for qualified students.
