About This Opportunity
The Dance World Cup is an annual international all-genre dance competition organized by DWC Limited, with over 120,000 competitors from 73 countries participating each year through national qualifiers. The competition is structured as a multi-round event where dancers first compete at their national level qualifier and the best performers advance to represent their country at the World Finals, which rotate between international host cities each year.
India participates through an official India chapter operated by Spotturn Entertainment in association with LV Dance Studio. Live qualifier events are held in four cities: Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, and Bangalore. Top performers from each qualifier city advance to the India National Finals in Bangalore, where Team India for the World Finals is selected. A video qualifier option is also available for dancers who cannot attend a live qualifier city.
The competition covers a wide range of dance styles including classical dance (ballet, national/folklore, tap), modern and contemporary styles (lyrical, contemporary, jazz, acro dance), and commercial forms (street dance, Bollywood showstopper, hip-hop). Participation formats include solo, duet/trio, quartet, small group (4-10 dancers), and large group (11 or more dancers).
Age categories are based on the dancer's age on January 1 of the competition year: Mini (9 years and under), Children (10-13 years), Junior (14-17 years), and Senior (18-25 years). Each performance is judged on four criteria: Technique (30 points), Artistic Interpretation and Performance (30 points), Musicality (20 points), and Choreography (20 points). A maximum of 7 solo slots per country advance to the World Finals for those scoring 70 or above.
