About This Opportunity
The Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest is an annual international competition for students aged 11-18, encouraging them to explore their personal relationship with the natural world through creative mediums. This contest is free to enter and open to students worldwide.
This contest is open to middle and high school students globally, including those in homeschool equivalents. Participants can enter individually or as part of a group. An adult sponsor's contact information is required for all submissions, and parental consent is necessary for those under 13 years old. College or university students are not eligible to participate.
Winners receive cash awards ranging from $50 to $1,000 USD, along with certificates of participation for all entrants. This opportunity provides a platform to showcase creative work globally, develop critical thinking and environmental advocacy skills, and contribute to the world's largest youth environmental arts collection.
Special awards, such as the Smithsonian Creativity in Resilience Award and the We All Rise Prize, are also offered, providing additional recognition and monetary benefits.
