CIEE - Council on International Educational Exchange

CIEE, the Council on International Educational Exchange, is the oldest and largest nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization in the United States. Founded in 1947, CIEE has helped thousands of students and professionals gain the knowledge and skills necessary to live and work in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world through meaningful exchange programs. CIEE administers a wide range of international educational programs including college study abroad, high school exchange programs through the BridgeUSA initiative, work and travel programs, internships, and J-1 visa sponsorships. The organization operates in over 30 countries worldwide and serves more than 12,000 study abroad students, 4,000 U.S. high schools, and 35,000 international exchange visitors annually. As a nongovernmental nonprofit organization, CIEE is dedicated to access, advocacy, and the health and safety of participants. The organization partners with the U.S. Department of State to run programs including the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange, Youth Exchange and Study, and Future Leaders Exchange programs.
