About This Opportunity

The GenWise Pathfinders Program (GSP) Governance and Policy Track is a three-week residential program designed specifically for Grade 11 and 12 students who want to explore the interconnected worlds of economics, statistics, and public policy. The program runs for 90 hours of intensive instruction with hands-on activities, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education campus.

The curriculum guides participants through fundamental principles of economics and their real-world applications, basic statistical skills for data analysis and interpretation, and the process of public policy formation and its impact on society. Students decode supply and demand, examine how governments steer economies, debate real policy challenges, and design solutions for tomorrow's world. Hands-on projects use AI and large language models for social science research and analysis.

This track is open to students entering Grade 11 or 12 with basic computer skills and curiosity about how society functions. No prior knowledge of economics, statistics, or public policy is required. The course is led by Anupam Manur, Assistant Professor at the Takshashila Institution, who teaches economic reasoning and macroeconomics in Takshashila's public policy programmes.

Participants live and learn on the residential MAHE campus alongside other academically curious peers from across India. The program develops critical thinking, problem-solving skills through interdisciplinary study, and exposure to public policy as a career path, supported by mentors drawn from leading institutions such as IIT, IIM, and IISc.
