About This Opportunity

The THIMUN The Hague Conference is the flagship annual Model United Nations event organised by the THIMUN Foundation. Held since 1968 at the World Forum in The Hague, Netherlands, it draws roughly 3,200 students and teachers from about 200 schools across 100+ countries, representing both UN member states and observer organisations.

Over five days, participating students serve as delegates, chairs, or members of specialised committees such as the General Assembly, ECOSOC, Security Council, Human Rights Council, International Court of Justice, and Special Conference bodies. Delegates research a country's policy positions, draft resolutions, debate global issues, and negotiate amendments under formal procedural rules modelled on the United Nations.

Participation is school-based: only students from THIMUN-registered schools can apply for individual positions, and registration must be completed by the school's MUN director. The 2026 edition runs from Tuesday, 27 January to Friday, 30 January 2026, with a mandatory ICC briefing on Monday, 26 January 2026, under the conference theme Culture and Heritage: Embracing Diversity.
