About this opportunity
The Design Championship's Web Design competition is a premier national event for school students in India to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills in web development. Participants are challenged to build efficient, user-friendly websites or web applications that address a specific problem statement, which is released 21 days prior to the event.
This online competition is structured into different age levels, making it accessible for a wide range of students to participate individually or in teams. It encourages participants to apply their knowledge of UI/UX, coding, and design thinking to create practical and innovative digital solutions, enhancing their portfolio and developing critical skills for future careers in technology.
Rounds and format
The competition consists of three main stages: Participants first submit their projects online, which are evaluated by a jury. Shortlisted projects from the regional level then qualify to compete in the Design Championship Final.
How entries are judged
Entries are judged on five key criteria, each with a 20% weightage: Design and Creativity (originality, UI, responsive design), Technical Quality (code correctness, optimization), Functionality and Content (browser compatibility, navigation), Uniqueness and Innovation (uniqueness of solution, innovative use of technology), and Accessibility and Overall Experience (relevance to theme, UX).
Selection process
Projects are shortlisted based on the jury's evaluation against the defined judging criteria. The best projects from the regional rounds, determined by the highest scores, qualify for the national final.
