E-Kalyan Pre-Matric Scholarship (Jharkhand) for SC/ST/OBC Class 9 & 10 Students

The E-Kalyan Pre-Matric Scholarship is a Government of Jharkhand financial assistance scheme administered by the Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare. It supports school students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Other Backward Class communities in completing their pre-matric education in Class 9 and Class 10.

The scholarship is open to permanent residents of Jharkhand studying in a recognised school in the state. Applicants must belong to the SC, ST, or OBC category and meet the prescribed family income limit, which is Rs 2,50,000 per year for SC and ST students and Rs 1,50,000 per year for OBC students. Caste, income, and domicile certificates issued by the competent authority are required.

Benefits cover essential schooling costs and are delivered through Direct Benefit Transfer to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account. Hostellers receive higher financial support than day scholars to account for boarding and lodging expenses. The scheme aims to reduce dropout rates at the matriculation stage and ensure continued schooling for children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Applications are processed entirely online through the e-Kalyan portal. Students complete an Aadhaar-based registration, fill the scheme-specific form, upload supporting documents, and submit through their school for verification. Disbursal follows institutional and district-level verification of the application.
