About This Opportunity
The Future Blue Youth Council, organized by Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs, is a dynamic international initiative for young people passionate about environmental conservation. Council members serve a one-year term, working as project managers, advisors, and creative idea generators to advance Bow Seat's mission and empower their peers to advocate for the environment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and influence real change.
This program is open to young individuals aged 16-21 from anywhere in the world who have previously participated in a Bow Seat program, such as the Ocean Awareness Contest or the True Blue Fellowship. Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in creativity and environmental conservation, along with a desire to collaborate with other youth council members and Bow Seat staff. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is also required.
Participants will gain invaluable experience working with a nonprofit organization and receive mentorship from Bow Seat staff. They will strengthen critical skills in communication, teamwork, and critical thinking, while also connecting with leaders in the environmental conservation community. Council members are compensated for their contributions, earning up to $1,200 USD during their one-year term.
Selected members will contribute their insights to shape Bow Seat's educational programming, expand program reach through community outreach and social media, and support youth-led environmental grantmaking initiatives. This council provides a platform to make a tangible impact on communities and the environment.
