About This Opportunity
The iChangeMyCity Challenge is a national youth civic action program run by Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy. Students in grades 7-12 work individually or in teams of up to four to identify a real civic issue in their locality, engage with community members and local stakeholders, develop an actionable solution, and document their civic journey.
Participants submit their project work online, and shortlisted teams are invited to present at a national Civic Fest event, where they showcase their solutions to peers, community leaders, and public officials. The challenge uses design thinking and systems thinking methodologies to help students move from problem identification to community-level action.
The program has historically engaged students across urban and semi-urban India, providing a structured framework for developing civic agency and democratic participation skills.
