About This Opportunity
The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO), conducted annually by the International Olympiad Foundation (IOF), is a prestigious academic competition designed to assess and strengthen the commercial aptitude of senior secondary school students. It evaluates conceptual understanding and application-based knowledge in core Commerce subjects while fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and academic confidence.
The Olympiad is open to students of Classes 11 and 12 from all streams, including Commerce, Science, and Humanities, encouraging interdisciplinary participation. Registration is done only through schools, and individual registrations are not accepted. The examination is typically conducted during school hours, making participation convenient for students.
ICO is a single-level examination consisting of 50 objective-type (MCQ) questions to be completed in 60 minutes, with no negative marking. The question paper is divided into four sections: Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, and an Achievers Section, covering syllabi aligned with CBSE, ICSE/ISC, and State Boards.
All participants receive a Student Performance Report (SPR) that provides a detailed analysis of their strengths, weaknesses, and comparative performance at the international, zonal, and school levels. High-performing students are rewarded with international, zonal, and school topper awards, including cash prizes (up to ₹1,00,000), medals, certificates, and gifts. The ICO offers students global academic recognition and serves as a strong foundation for careers in commerce, management, finance, and entrepreneurship.
