How to apply
- 1Students must first qualify through regional or national History Bee events. Qualified students then register for the Asian Championship through the IAC website.
Rules and guidelines
- Participants compete individually in a buzzer-based quiz format.
- Three incorrect answers on a single tossup question will end the opportunity to answer for all students.
- Players must buzz in before answering a question.
- Answers should be concise; if any portion is incorrect, the whole answer is incorrect.
- The reader waits three seconds after finishing a question before calling it dead.
Fees and financial support
Fee details
The registration fee for the International History Bee Asian Championship is $140 USD per student. Regional qualifying events may have different fee structures. Additional fees may apply for late registration or specific payment methods. Payments can be made via Flywire or wire transfer, with a $30 USD fee for wire transfers. A 5% surcharge applies for in-person payments in local currency at regional events, and a 10% surcharge for other currencies at the Asian Championships.
Refund policy
Cancellations made before the registration deadline may be eligible for a refund minus a $50 fee. Cancellations between the deadline and a week before the event may incur a 50% fee. No refunds are typically given for cancellations made closer to the event date.
