About This Opportunity

The Muthoot M George Excellence Awards is a flagship CSR initiative by Muthoot Finance that recognizes and encourages meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds studying in government schools across India. Launched in 2010, the program has completed over 15 years of empowering young minds and has benefitted more than 10,000 students across the country.

The awards target academically excellent students in Classes 8 and 9 from government schools. Students are selected based on the list of rank holders prepared by their schools in consultation with government educational offices, meaning there is no application process for students. Schools nominate their top-performing students directly.

Each selected student receives a cash award of INR 3,000 along with a memento, providing encouragement and financial support at a crucial stage in their academic journey. The awards are distributed through ceremonies held at school assemblies and official events across multiple cities.

The program spans 788 districts pan India, covering major cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Madurai, Mangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi, with total scholarship funding worth INR 1 crore annually.
