About this opportunity
The National School Games Badminton Championship (Under-14) is the apex inter-state school badminton competition in the under-14 age category, organised annually by the School Games Federation of India for school boys and girls.
Participation is open to bona fide school students who qualify through their state school sports body. Players progress through school, district, and state-level meets before being selected to represent their state at the national championship. The under-14 age is taken as on 31 December of the competition year and is verified through a birth certificate from a competent government authority or the previous year's mark sheet.
Selected players represent their state in singles, doubles, and team events under Badminton World Federation playing conditions and SGFI's uniform rules. The championship offers national-level exposure, an SGFI participation certificate recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and a pathway towards higher school-sport honours including international school sport events. Host states rotate each year as published in the annual SGFI National School Games calendar.
