About this opportunity

Paryavaran Mitra is the Centre for Environment Education's flagship nationwide school network programme for environmental education, run in partnership with India's Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

School teams take up hands-on handprint action projects, turning environmental learning into real local action. Schools register through a teacher facilitator, who forms up to three student teams of two to five members drawn from Classes 6 to 12, each working on one of the programme's themes.

Every team that submits a project report earns a participation certificate. National winning teams receive a cash award, memento, and certificate through the annual Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar, which recognizes exemplary schools, teachers, and students for their handprint action work.

The programme draws on CEE's four decades of environmental education experience and reaches schools through theme-based resource booklets, teacher training, and a network that has grown to more than two lakh schools nationwide.
