About This Opportunity
The SGFI National School Games Carrom Championship is the carrom discipline of the School Games Federation of India's National School Games, an inter-state event contested by state and union-territory school teams in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 age groups.
Carrom is recognised by the federation as an Indian Game discipline for boys and girls. Players qualify upward through school, district and state-level School Games, and each state or unit nominates its team; there is no direct individual entry. Age is calculated as on the thirty-first of December, and players must be bona fide students of recognised schools or junior colleges representing the state in which they study.
Entries are filed online by the affiliated state association and verified against birth certificates, school eligibility certificates and previous-year mark sheets. Every participant receives a certificate and identity card, medals are awarded by age category and event, and selection recognises students within the national school-sports system of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
