About This Opportunity
The WRC Sumobot Challenge is a dynamic competition where participants design, build, and program autonomous robots to compete in sumo-style matches. The objective is to push the opponent's robot out of a circular ring, emphasizing mechanical design, programming prowess, and strategic maneuvers. This challenge fosters a thrilling fusion of engineering, strategy, and athleticism.
This competition is open to students aged 8 to 16 years. Participants can register as individuals or through RoboClubs and schools across India. Teams are encouraged to showcase their creativity and passion for robotics through a video submission as part of the application process.
Participants will gain valuable hands-on experience in robotics, coding, and problem-solving. The challenge promotes teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation. All participants receive a certificate of participation from the All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA), and winning teams are awarded monetary prizes up to INR 125,000.
The competition focuses on developing sophisticated control algorithms and optimizing robot design for traction, weight distribution, and pushing power. It is an excellent platform for young minds to explore STEM fields and prepare for future tech-driven solutions.
