About this opportunity
The Young Indians Parliament is a national civic leadership program that brings democracy alive for school students through experiential learning. Students step into the roles of parliamentarians to debate, question, collaborate, and draft solutions to real national and international issues.
The program is open to students in Classes 9 to 12, with participation routed through registered schools that nominate eligible candidates. Selected students progress through a structured three-tier journey of chapter rounds, regional rounds in major Indian cities, and a national finale held in New Delhi.
The regional rounds run as two-day immersive parliamentary simulations covering oath ceremonies, party formation, manifesto creation, central agenda speeches, Question Hour, Zero Hour, and final debates. Participants gain skills in public speaking, leadership, critical thinking, negotiation, and policy reasoning.
The initiative is run by CII Young Indians under its Yi School Hub umbrella, with mentorship from Members of Parliament, MLAs, and senior policymakers. The edition engaged over 4,500 students across the country, with national finalists honoured in categories such as Best Parliamentarian, Best Speaker, and Leadership Excellence.
