Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal (ABGMVM) is the foremost examination and accreditation body for Hindustani classical music and tabla in India. Founded in 1901 and headquartered in Miraj (Maharashtra) with administrative offices in Mumbai, ABGMVM has been conducting graded music examinations for over 120 years. ABGMVM operates a comprehensive examination system covering Hindustani vocal music, tabla, harmonium, sitar, sarod, flute, violin, and other classical instruments. The examination hierarchy progresses from Prathamik through Madhyama, Visharad, Alankar, and Sangeetacharya — providing a fully structured pathway through classical music education. With over 800 affiliated teaching centres across India, ABGMVM examinations are available in virtually every state and major city. Examinations are conducted twice a year. ABGMVM certificates are widely recognised by music institutions, universities, and cultural organisations across India.
