About
Alliance Française of Madras is an independent, not-for-profit language and cultural organization established in 1953. The centre is dedicated to teaching the French language and promoting Franco-Indian cultural exchanges across Tamil Nadu. The organization serves approximately 3,000 students annually with French courses for children, teenagers, and adults across all proficiency levels. It is the only centre in Tamil Nadu authorized to conduct DELF, DALF, and CCIP examinations. Its campus on College Road, Nungambakkam houses classrooms, a library, a multimedia centre, an auditorium seating 180, a gallery, and a cafeteria. The centre also operates branches in Coimbatore and Trichy. Alliance Française of Madras is part of the global Alliance Française network spanning 136 countries, operating under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of France in India.
