Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) is a prestigious residential institution established by the Government of Punjab in 2010, with training commencing in April 2011. The institute is dedicated to preparing young boys from Punjab for permanent commission as officers in the Indian Armed Forces through the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other equivalent training academies. The institute offers a rigorous two-year pre-NDA preparatory program, integrating comprehensive academic coaching for Class 11 and 12 (non-medical stream) through an affiliated school, with intensive physical training and military discipline. MRSAFPI is designed to train 96 cadets at any given time, with an intake of 48 seats per batch. MRSAFPI boasts an impressive track record, having successfully sent over 238 cadets to the NDA and other defence academies, with more than 160 alumni commissioned as officers. The institute maintains an 83% pass rate in the NDA-I examination and has produced cadets who have secured the 1st rank in the All India Merit List of the NDA. Currently, 50 cadets from MRSAFPI are undergoing training at the National Defence Academy, a distinction that ranks the institute second highest nationally in terms of cadet strength at the NDA.
