The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) is an autonomous government body established by the School Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. It is the primary authority for conducting a wide range of scholastic and professional examinations across the state, playing a vital role in the educational framework. The council is renowned for administering key assessments that identify and support academic talent. These include the prestigious Pre-Upper Primary (Class 5) and Pre-Secondary (Class 8) Scholarship Examinations, which have been instrumental in providing financial aid to meritorious students for decades. MSCE is also the designated body for conducting the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET), a mandatory qualification for aspiring teachers in state schools. Additionally, it manages the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) for teacher recruitment and oversees the state-level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), ensuring fair and transparent evaluation processes for students and educators alike.
