About
The National Anveshika Network of India (NANI), a flagship program of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), was founded in 2011 by the esteemed Padma Shri Dr. H. C. Verma. NANI is dedicated to igniting a passion for physics among students and teachers across India by championing experiment-based learning and innovative scientific exploration. It orchestrates a robust network of over 30 'Anveshikas' (centers) nationwide, serving as dynamic, open-ended laboratories where participants engage in hands-on physics experiments, develop novel teaching demonstrations, and delve into scientific concepts beyond traditional syllabi. NANI regularly organizes impactful student and teacher workshops, vibrant science fairs, and engaging science shows. A cornerstone initiative is the annual National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test (NAEST), a unique competition designed to rigorously assess and nurture observational, analytical, and experimental skills in physics. NANI's activities strongly emphasize low-cost, short-duration experiments that can be seamlessly integrated into regular classroom teaching, aligning perfectly with the principles of experiential learning and competency-based assessment as envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
