About
One Earth Film Festival is a Chicago-based environmental film festival produced by One Earth Collective, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded to advance climate action and community resilience through cinema. The festival uses the power of film to educate, connect, and activate audiences around sustainability issues and solutions. Its year-round programming includes the annual flagship festival, an Online Academy with sustainability workshops, the Young Filmmakers Contest for students aged 8 to 25, and curated screenings hosted across community partner venues. Films are paired with discussions, expert panels, and action resources that help viewers translate awareness into behavior change. The Young Filmmakers Contest invites students worldwide to create short environmental films around seven sustainability themes: Climate, Energy, Food, Transportation, Waste, Water, and Wildlife and Ecosystems. Winning films are screened at the festival and at partner events, giving young storytellers a global platform.
