About
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation is a global non-formal education framework that empowers young people aged 14-24. This organization operates in over 130 countries and territories, inspiring participants to discover their potential and make a difference in their communities. The Foundation supports the growth, access, and impact of the Award worldwide. The Award provides a balanced program of personal development and challenge through four sections: Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, Skills, and Adventurous Journey. A Residential Project is also required for the Gold level. This framework helps young people develop universal skills such as resilience, adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving. The Foundation works with a network of National Award Operators and Independent Award Centres, including schools, youth organizations, and employers, to deliver the program. The program aims to ensure every eligible young person has the opportunity to participate, regardless of background or ability. The Award has been helping young people transform their lives for over 60 years.
