The Earth Foundation

The Earth Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to inspiring, educating, mentoring, and empowering students and young entrepreneurs globally. The foundation focuses on fostering innovative ideas to tackle environmental challenges and accelerate positive change towards environmental sustainability. It was founded in 2020 by Peter McGarry, driven by the enthusiasm of youth climate activism. The foundation's flagship initiative, The Earth Prize, is a global environmental sustainability competition for teenagers aged 13-19. This program provides participants with original educational materials, personalized mentorship from university students, and opportunities to interact with world-renowned ambassadors. The Earth Foundation strives to build a self-perpetuating ecosystem that channels youth enthusiasm, supports schools, promotes research, and empowers change-makers. It aims to create opportunities and build a network of inspiration to address pressing environmental issues. The organization has engaged nearly 10,000 participants from over 2,500 schools across 154 countries through The Earth Prize. Beyond the competition, The Earth Foundation also supports research endeavors through The Earth Foundation Awards, distributing grants and scholarships to university students and researchers.
