About

Verbattle Foundation is a Bengaluru-based non-profit organisation founded in 2005 by Deepak Thimaya. The organisation works to empower society intellectually by fostering structured debate, public speaking and democratic dialogue among students. Verbattle conducts debate competitions in multiple categories, including Beginner, Junior, Junior Plus, Senior, Kannada, National and International formats. The platform is open to school and college participants and uses a distinctive three-team debate format with parliamentary-style rounds. Beyond competitions, Verbattle runs the Verbattle Academy, a debate club, certification programmes, workshops and a summer camp. The foundation has trained more than 7,000 teachers and engaged over a million students across India. Verbattle has spent over one crore rupees on its programmes and disbursed approximately eighty lakh rupees in scholarships to participants over the years.
