About this opportunity
The AIFF Golden Baby Leagues are the grassroots football initiative of the All India Football Federation, created so young children across India can play football in a fun, festival-style environment built around enjoyment, friendship and learning rather than winning.
Designed for age bands from Under-6 to Under-12, the leagues use small-sided, age-appropriate match formats so every child gets more touches of the ball and more time on the pitch. Younger players begin with simple 3v3 and 4v4 games, with formats becoming gradually more structured as children grow.
The leagues are run locally by accredited operators such as schools, clubs, academies, districts and other organisations, who register with their State or Union Territory Football Association and the AIFF. This means children can take part close to home, wherever a registered baby league is being held.
First introduced in 2018, the programme has grown into one of India's largest grassroots football movements and forms the base of the country's player development pathway. The focus stays on participation and joy, helping children build basic football skills, coordination, teamwork and confidence.
