About This Opportunity
The Atul Maheshwari Scholarship, launched in 2014 by the Amar Ujala Foundation, offers financial assistance to academically strong students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This merit-cum-means scholarship aims to help students continue their education and achieve academic success by alleviating financial burdens.
Students currently studying in Classes 9 to 12 under state education boards are eligible to apply. Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in their previous annual examination, and their family's annual income should not exceed INR 1.5 lakh or INR 2 lakh, depending on the source. The scholarship is primarily for students from Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.
Selected candidates receive significant financial support, with students in Classes 9 and 10 receiving up to INR 50,000 annually, and those in Classes 11 and 12 receiving up to INR 75,000 annually. This assistance helps cover educational expenses like tuition fees, books, and study materials. The scholarship also recognizes academic excellence and empowers students to pursue their educational goals.
The selection process involves a written examination followed by interviews. The written exam includes two papers with multiple-choice questions and essay writing, covering subjects like Mathematics, Hindi, Computer Knowledge, Reasoning, General Science, and General Knowledge. Eligible candidates receive admit cards via email and can select an exam center from 57 cities across the eligible states.
