About This Opportunity
The BNHS Students' Nature Camp at Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) is an annual residential wildlife immersion program organized by the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). Held at one of Maharashtra's most biodiverse tiger reserves, the camp takes school students into the wild for an intensive multi-day experience of nature observation, ecological field study, and conservation education.
Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Chandrapur district is home to tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs (dholes), gaur, sambar deer, and hundreds of bird species.
Under the guidance of experienced BNHS naturalists and wildlife experts, students learn to identify birds and mammals, understand food webs and ecosystem dynamics, conduct basic ecological surveys, and develop sensitivity to wildlife conservation. The camp includes morning and evening wildlife safaris, nature walks, nocturnal observation sessions, campfire discussions, and field documentation activities.
The program is designed for students in Classes 5-10 and covers accommodation, meals, park entry, and naturalist guidance.
