About this opportunity
The CBSE shooting championship for Under-14 is entered, played and medalled as its own age group. A player must be within the Under-14 age group as on 31 December of the year of the competition.
Only bona fide students of CBSE affiliated private schools may take part, and a student who has failed twice in a particular class is not eligible. A player may move up into a senior age group, but doing so forfeits participation in their own group.
The championship is played zonal and then national. Shooting is not held at cluster level. A school enters the zonal meet, and the top two teams and top five individuals in each event and age group go from the zone to the CBSE Nationals. A school may send one team per age category, separately for boys and girls. A team is up to five students, of whom three shoot the team championship while all five may shoot the individual championship.
Entry is done by the school, not the family, through CBSE's online sports system in three steps: registering the student to get a UID, applying to participate in the game, and emailing the organising school to confirm at least a week before the meet. No offline or on the spot entry is accepted.
Medals in an event depend on how many entries it draws: three medals where there are at least four entries, two where there are three, one where there are two, and none where a single entry is received. Certificates are generated online and no printed copy is issued. Travel, food and kit are paid for by the participating school or the family, and every team carries its school flag for the compulsory march past.

Medals in an event depend on how many entries it draws: three medals where there are at least four entries, two where there are three, one where there are two, and none where a single entry is received. Medals are sent to the organising school by the CBSE Sports Cell.

Fees & financial support
Fee details
CBSE charges no per student entry fee for the championship. The board collects an annual sports fee of Rs 10,000 from every private affiliated school, added automatically when the school registers its classes IX to XII students, so the cost sits with the school rather than the family. A late fee does apply to a school that registers or applies after the last date: Rs 500 per student for up to seven days late and Rs 1,000 per student for eight to fourteen days. Travel, food and kit are paid for by the participating school or the family.
