Shooters who are 16 or younger in the championship year, entered through a state rifle association affiliated to NRAI. Each shooter needs the Sub Youth minimum qualifying score in the event, from the previous edition or the National Shooting Championship Competitions. Shooters must be at least 10 on the first day for air gun events.

Fee details
NRAI sets the fees in each edition's entry circular. The most recent edition charged Rs 1,475 per 10m event, including 18% GST; late entries cost three times the fee. A state association may add a forwarding fee of up to Rs 5,000 for NRAI members who are not its own members. Fees are not refunded if a shooter does not take part.

The Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship is an all-India rifle and pistol championship held each year by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). Its Sub Youth category is for shooters who are 16 or younger in the championship year.
Sub Youth shooters compete in two individual events, 10m Air Rifle and 10m Air Pistol, with separate matches for boys and girls. Each match is 60 shots, with its own entries and medals. NRAI holds finals only for the Senior, Junior and Youth categories, so the qualification score decides the Sub Youth results. There are no team events in this category.

Shooters must be at least 10 on the first day for air gun events. Sub Youth shooters may also enter Youth, Junior and Senior matches. NRAI provides no guns, so shooters bring their own.
NRAI runs the rifle and pistol events at separate ranges and names the venues and dates in its annual domestic calendar and entry circulars.
Rounds & format
Each match starts with a 60-shot qualification under ISSF rules, shot in the detail the shooter picks on NRAI's portal. On electronic targets a 10m match takes 1 hour 15 minutes after 15 minutes of preparation and sighting shots. There is no final in this category, so the qualification score decides the ranking and the medals.
How entries are judged
Scores are the total of the shots fired under ISSF rules. With no final in this category, the qualification total decides the order. Protests cost Rs 236 and an appeal to the Jury of Appeal Rs 590, refunded if upheld.
