About this opportunity
The Goethe Regional Youth Camp South Asia is an annual immersive language and cultural camp organised by the Goethe-Institut for students from PASCH partner schools across South Asia. Selected German learners from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan come together at a host venue in the region for a multi-day programme combining intensive German classes with cross-cultural workshops and excursions.
Participation is by invitation only and is restricted to learners from PASCH schools who are already studying German. Past editions have been held in Sri Lanka and India and welcomed students aged 14-16, with daily German instruction by qualified teachers grouped according to language level.
The programme blends classroom learning with project-based workshops, cultural evenings, country presentations and guided excursions to local heritage sites. Participants build international friendships, practise spoken German with peers from other South Asian countries and gain confidence using the language outside their classroom.
The Goethe-Institut covers programme costs including accommodation, meals and local transport during the camp, while participating families typically contribute toward international airfare. The camp is a stepping stone within the wider PASCH initiative and complements the larger PASCH Youth Course (JuKu) held in Germany.
