About This Opportunity
The ISDS Skill Seminars are beginner-level sessions on debate and communication skills organized by the Indian Schools Debating Society. The program teaches practical debate and public speaking fundamentals including structured speaking, argument building, rebuttal, and presentation style in a format-agnostic manner, with WSDC format integration in each session.
The seminars are open to students in Grades 6 to 9 with little to no debating background. Notably, the program is exclusively available to students from schools charging Rs. 60,000 per year or less in annual fees. Students from state schools and Army Public Schools can request full subsidies. Tier 2 and Tier 3 city participants receive additional fee discounts.
Participants develop skills in structured speaking, argumentation, rebuttal, and effective speech presentation. These skills are applicable beyond debate contexts, supporting essay writing, interviews, and structured thinking. The program bridges access gaps by making debate training affordable for students who may lack exposure to such opportunities.
