Shooters who are 19 or younger in the championship year, entered through a state rifle association affiliated to NRAI. Each shooter needs the Youth minimum qualifying score in the event, from the previous edition or the National Shooting Championship Competitions. Younger shooters may also enter.

Three medals are awarded in a match with at least four entries, two with three entries and one with two. A shooter must also reach the qualifying mark to receive a medal.

Fee details
NRAI sets the fees in each edition's entry circular. The most recent edition charged Rs 1,475 per 10m event and Rs 1,328 per 25m or 50m event, including 18% GST, and Rs 1,770 per mixed team; late entries cost three times the fee. A state association may add a forwarding fee of up to Rs 5,000 for NRAI members who are not its own members. Fees are not refunded if a shooter does not take part.
About this opportunity
The Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship is an all-India rifle and pistol championship held each year by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). Its Youth category is for shooters who are 19 or younger in the championship year.
Youth shooters compete in 10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 50m Rifle Prone, 10m Air Pistol and 25m Sports Pistol, with separate matches for boys and girls. Each state may also field one boy and one girl in the 10m Air Rifle and 10m Air Pistol Youth Mixed Team events. Each match has its own entries and medals, and the Olympic events end in a final.
Entry is only through a state rifle association affiliated to NRAI, on NRAI's online system, and only for shooters who reached the Youth minimum qualifying score (MQS) at the previous edition or at the National Shooting Championship Competitions. Youth shooters may also enter Junior and Senior matches. NRAI provides no guns, so shooters bring their own.
NRAI runs the rifle and pistol events at separate ranges and names the venues and dates in its annual domestic calendar and entry circulars.
Rounds & format
Each match starts with a 60-shot qualification under ISSF rules, shot in the detail the shooter picks on NRAI's portal. 50m Rifle 3 Positions is 20 shots each kneeling, prone and standing, and 25m Sports Pistol is a 30-shot precision course followed by a 30-shot rapid course. In the Olympic events the top qualifiers shoot a final under ISSF rules, which decides the medals.

Scores are the total of the shots fired under ISSF rules. In the Olympic events the top qualifiers shoot a final that decides the medals. Protests cost Rs 236 and an appeal to the Jury of Appeal Rs 590, refunded if upheld.
