About This Opportunity
The Money Smart School Program (MSSP) is a flagship financial literacy initiative by the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE). The program aims to provide unbiased financial education to school students of Class VI to X and encourage them to develop basic financial skills necessary for informed decision-making throughout their lives.
The program is open to schools across India that voluntarily choose to integrate financial literacy into their existing curriculum. NCFE and CBSE have jointly developed a set of five Financial Education Workbooks, one for each class from VI to X. The curriculum is designed to integrate with existing subjects like history, civics, geography, and mathematics across 20 sessions per class, each lasting 40 minutes.
Schools implementing the program receive official Money Smart School certification and a digital badge from NCFE. Teachers are trained through the Financial Education Training Program (FETP) at no cost, becoming certified Money Smart Teachers. Students can participate in the National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) for evaluation.
Participating schools also receive priority access to future NCFE initiatives, opportunities for students to visit financial sector regulators such as RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA, and recognition through NCFE social media campaigns promoting Money Smart Schools.
