- Students are strictly prohibited from participating if they are planning to compete or have already competed in the national linguistics Olympiad of any other country that leads to participation in the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) for the current academic year.
- The PLO Executive Board reserves the absolute right to disallow or disqualify any candidate found to be in violation of the rules or for any other valid reason.
- The decision of the PLO Executive Board on any disputes concerning rules, eligibility criteria, or selection processes will be final and binding.
