About This Opportunity
The Rubber Powered Glider Workshop by Aerogo offers an exciting hands-on opportunity for children to delve into the world of aeromodelling. Participants will learn the captivating principles behind glider functioning and design concepts through interactive lectures and guided design sessions. This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of glider dynamics, empowering students to build their very own gliders from scratch.
This workshop is suitable for students aged 8 to 18 years with a general interest in aircraft design and related engineering fields. No prior experience in aeromodelling is required, making it accessible for beginners. Younger participants may attend with assistance, ensuring a supportive learning environment for all.
Participants will gain practical experience in aircraft fabrication and flight testing, developing skills in aerodynamics, controls, and stability. They will also receive a Certificate of Completion from Aerogo, with a Certificate of Completion with Distinction for top performers. This experience can spark interest in STEM careers and provide a foundational understanding of aeronautical engineering.
The workshop includes a theory session covering aeromodelling fundamentals, glider theory, and aircraft parts, followed by hands-on construction and flight testing. Expert instructors will guide participants through every step, from understanding materials to optimizing glider performance.
