About This Opportunity

The Sant Ravidas Shiksha Sahayata Yojana (also titled Sant Ravidas Shiksha Protsahan Yojana on the official portal) is the flagship education encouragement scheme of the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. It pays one-time per-academic-year financial assistance, additional merit and bicycle bonuses, to up to two children of UP construction workers registered and active with UPBOCW for at least 365 days.

The scheme covers Class 1 through Class 12, ITI, polytechnic, vocational courses, undergraduate and post-graduate education, MBBS and medical post-graduation, research programmes, and admission at premier institutes including IIM, IIT, NIT, NIFT, and National Law Universities. Children must have passed the previous class on first attempt, must be enrolled in a UP-recognised institution, and must not be receiving similar education aid from any other government scheme.

Benefit amounts are graded by level: Rs. 2,000 per year for Classes 1 to 5, Rs. 2,500 for Classes 6 to 10, Rs. 3,000 for Classes 11 and 12, Rs. 12,000 for undergraduate or ITI/polytechnic, Rs. 24,000 for postgraduate, and 100 per cent fee reimbursement for MBBS, Medical PG, and IIM/IIT/NIT/NIFT/NLU programmes. Research programmes receive Rs. 1,00,000. Merit bonuses are added on top: high school or intermediate with 70 per cent or more earns Rs. 5,000 for boys and Rs. 8,000 for girls, while graduate or postgraduate with 60 per cent or more earns Rs. 10,000 for boys and Rs. 12,000 for girls. Class 9 to 12 students also receive a one-time bicycle subsidy.

Application is made online via upbocw.in using the worker's registered Aadhaar and mobile number, with offline submission accepted at nearest Labour or Tehsildar offices. Benefit is transferred via DBT to the worker's bank account after labour-officer verification.
