Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board

The Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is a state-level welfare authority of the Government of Uttar Pradesh's Labour Department for construction workers from the unorganized sector. The Government of India passed the Building and Other Construction Workers Act in 1996. The State promulgated its Rules under the Act on 4 February 2009 and constituted the Board. Registered construction workers and their families receive benefits through schemes including the Maternity, Child and Girl Child Assistance Scheme, the Sant Ravidas Education Promotion Scheme, the Vihaan Residential School Scheme, the Skill Development, Technical Upgradation and Certification Scheme, the Toilet Assistance Scheme, the Disaster Relief Assistance Scheme, the Mahatma Gandhi Pension Scheme and the Serious Illness Assistance Scheme.
