About This Opportunity

The Junior Academy, offered by The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), is a prestigious online program designed for high school students passionate about STEM. Participants form international teams and collaborate with STEM experts through a dedicated online platform called Launchpad. The program focuses on innovation challenges where students design solutions to real-world problems, often aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This program is open to enthusiastic learners and problem-solvers aged 13-17 from around the world, including India. A strong level of English proficiency is required for all program content and communication, and this proficiency will be assessed during the application process. Students should be prepared to commit three to four hours each week during challenge periods.

Participants gain access to a global network of peers and mentors, develop vital 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration, and receive mentorship from experienced STEM professionals. The program also provides exposure to real-world research and exclusive learning resources like online modules, videos, and articles. Successful participants receive a certificate and a Young Membership to The New York Academy of Sciences.

The Junior Academy is completely free for all participating students, making it accessible to talented individuals globally. Challenges are sponsored by industry-leading companies, providing students with unique opportunities to work on relevant, real-world issues.
