Open to girls whose body weight is 65 kg and below. The age rule uses a date-of-birth cut-off of 31 December of the championship year: players must be above 15 and below 18 years on that date. Players are picked by an AKFI affiliated unit, and an online AKFI player registration and identity card is compulsory.

About this opportunity
The Under-18 National Kabaddi Championship (Girls) is the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India's national event for girls aged above 15 and below 18 years on 31 December of the championship year. Players represent the team of an AKFI affiliated unit.
The girls' section is entered, drawn and medalled on its own, with its own teams, pools and champion, and its own weight limit of 65 kg and below. Teams play pool matches on mats, then knockout rounds to the final.
Entry is not something a family files. The affiliated unit selects the team and submits the entry form online, and every player needs an online AKFI registration number and identity card before that. A signed copy of the entry form travels to the venue, and an Aadhaar card is checked at the weighing.
The organizing committee provides free boarding, lodging and local transport to participating teams and officials. Teams wear colored uniforms with chest numbers four inches on the front and six on the back, and bring their State flag for the march past.
Rounds & format
Teams are drawn into pools and play pool matches, after which the leading teams go into knockout rounds to the final. All matches are played on mats under AKFI rules, and players are weighed before the team plays.
How entries are judged
Matches are decided on points scored through raids and tackles under AKFI rules, over 40 minutes. A knockout match level at full time goes to five raids for each team, and then to a golden raid.
Selection process
Entry is decided by AKFI's affiliated units, the State and UT associations and units such as the Sports Authority of India and Indian Railways, each of which selects one girls' team. In the championship, pool results decide who reaches the knockout rounds, and the last team standing takes the national title for the girls' section.
