About
Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) is the national governing body for the sport of kabaddi in India. Founded in 1973, AKFI regulates, promotes and conducts kabaddi competitions across the country at sub-junior, junior and senior levels for both boys and girls. AKFI is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and the Indian Olympic Association. It is affiliated to the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) and the Asian Kabaddi Federation, and represents India in continental and global kabaddi competitions including the Asian Games and Asian Kabaddi Championships. The federation organises a calendar of national championships every year, including the Senior National Kabaddi Championship, Junior National Kabaddi Championship, Sub-Junior National Kabaddi Championship, Federation Cup and Circle Style National Kabaddi Championship. State kabaddi associations are affiliated to AKFI and field teams in these national tournaments.
