About This Opportunity
The WRC Fastest Line Follower is a premier robotics competition organized by the All India Council For Robotics & Automation (AICRA) as part of the larger TechnoXian World Robotics Championship. This challenge requires participants to design, build, and program an autonomous robot capable of following a black line on a white surface track with maximum speed and precision to reach the destination in the minimum possible time. It emphasizes practical application of robotics, automation, and embedded systems.
This competition is open to individuals and teams. There are two main categories: the Junior Category for participants aged 8 to 16 years, and an Open for All category for college/university students and individuals of any age group. Teams can consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 members. Participants can be from RoboClubs, schools, colleges, universities, vocational institutions, or independent groups of students.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in robotics, programming, and problem-solving. Winners receive significant cash prizes and all participants are awarded a Certificate of Participation from the All India Council For Robotics & Automation (AICRA). The competition fosters innovation, teamwork, and technical skills crucial for future careers in STEM fields.
The competition track is approximately 180-200 feet long with a 25mm wide black line on a white surface. The track may include curves, intersections, and discontinuous lines, requiring advanced robot design and programming. Robots must be wireless, autonomous, and fit within specified dimensions of 20x20x20 cm, weighing no more than 5 kg.
