About This Opportunity
The YJI Multimedia Feature Contest is a category within the annual Youth Journalism International (YJI) contest, recognizing outstanding multimedia feature storytelling by young journalists aged 19 and under. Participants submit multimedia feature pieces that go beyond hard news to explore human-interest narratives, in-depth stories, and creative journalism through video, audio, and mixed-media formats.
Open to non-professional journalists worldwide, the contest accepts entries from school publications, personal platforms, and other venues. Audio and video entries are accepted alongside mixed-media formats. All work must have been published or broadcast in English during the previous calendar year. Both individual and team entries are accepted.
All entries are evaluated by a global panel of more than two dozen judges including professional journalists, teachers, and media experts. Winners from first place to honorable mention receive custom-made award certificates recognizing their multimedia storytelling.
The contest is conducted entirely online through the YJI entry form. Entry requires a public link to the published multimedia content. Fee waivers are available for individuals experiencing financial hardship.
