About
Animal Aid Unlimited is an animal welfare organisation that rescues and treats un-owned street animals who have become ill or injured, and works to build community support for animal protection. It was founded in 2002 by Erika Abrams Myers, Jim Myers and Claire Abrams Myers. The organisation operates an emergency rescue helpline, a full animal hospital with two operating rooms, and a permanent sanctuary for animals that cannot return to the street because they are disabled, blind, elderly or orphaned. In 2023-24 it admitted 12,047 animals to its hospital, carried out 7,677 street treatment visits and sterilised 3,239 animals, with a staff of more than 150. Alongside its clinical work, Animal Aid Unlimited runs humane education in schools, a week-long first aid training course for animal rescuers, and a volunteering and visitor programme that receives participants from India and abroad. It is registered as Animal Aid Charitable Trust, with a separate United States affiliate that supports its funding.
