Badminton World Federation (BWF)

The Badminton World Federation is the international governing body for the sport of badminton, recognised by the International Olympic Committee. It governs the sport worldwide and sets the rules, rankings and major competitions for badminton. The federation works through 204 member associations across five continental confederations, with the Badminton Association of India as its member federation in India. Alongside elite competition, it runs development programmes to grow the sport at the grassroots. Its flagship schools programme, Shuttle Time, introduces badminton to children worldwide through trained teachers and free resources, supporting the federation's mission to make badminton an accessible and popular school sport.
