About This Opportunity
BWF Shuttle Time is the Badminton World Federation's free schools badminton programme, designed to introduce badminton to school children through trained teachers using ready-made, child-friendly lessons and resources.
Launched in 2012, the programme gives teachers free access to a teachers' manual, lesson plans, instructional videos and an inclusivity guide, along with online and face-to-face training that leads to a teacher certification. Lessons run for about an hour and introduce children aged five to fifteen to the basic strokes, footwork and games of badminton.
The programme is delivered in person at participating schools by teachers, with no prior badminton experience required to teach it. It aims to make badminton an accessible school sport and to give every child a chance to play, supporting physical literacy and inclusion.
