About

Centre for Media Studies (CMS) is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary think tank established in 1991. The organisation undertakes policy research, evaluations, and capacity building to support equitable growth and responsive governance across India. CMS works with media professionals, academia, policymakers, and the public through specialist teams including CMS Social, CMS Environment, CMS Communication, CMS Transparency, CMS Media Lab, CMS Survey, CMS Advocacy and CMS Academy. Its work bridges research with implementation across social and environmental themes. The organisation is best known publicly for CMS VATAVARAN, its flagship international environment and wildlife film festival and forum that has been a major platform for green cinema in India for over two decades. CMS also produces studies on transparency, public services, health, and rural communication. Headquartered in Saket, New Delhi, CMS operates campuses in South Delhi, Noida and Hyderabad with field researchers across the country for time-bound projects and evaluations.
