Digjyoti Educational Trust

Digjyoti Charitable Educational Trust is a non-profit organisation that supports higher education for meritorious poor orphans, distressed children, and differently-abled children. The trust offers a portfolio of named scholarships funded through philanthropic contributions and a corpus fund, with awards covering students entering Class 11 (+2), undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes. Founded by Prof. Khageswar Pradhan along with Mrs. Vidya Pradhan and Mrs. Sucheta Pradhan as founder trustees, the trust runs three named scholarship streams: the Digjyoti Scholarship for Class 11 entrants, the Nemi Chand Jain Scholarships for first-year degree students in Commerce or Science, and the Dr. S. S. Prabhu Scholarship for postgraduate students in life sciences and allied fields. The trust receives donations that qualify for income-tax exemption under Section 80G. Applications are accepted by post each academic year, with selection based on academic merit, financial need, and supporting documents including matriculation marksheets, admission receipts, and recent photographs. Selected scholars receive an annual stipend that may be renewed for the duration of the qualifying course subject to continued eligibility and academic performance.
